European sovereignty

A European cloud is about who runs it, not where the rack is

Plenty of clouds have a region in Frankfurt. Fewer are built, owned and operated in Europe, under European law, with nobody abroad who can order the data handed over.

Who do you contract with?

Ankra AB, a Swedish limited company headquartered in Stockholm. There is no parent company outside the EU.

Whose law applies?

Swedish law, with disputes in Swedish courts. A provider owned by a US company can be compelled under US law, including the CLOUD Act, to hand over data it controls wherever that data is stored. That reach comes from ownership, not from where the servers are.

Where does your data live?

In the zone you choose and nowhere else: Stockholm, Sweden or Lille, France. Backups stay in the zone unless you restore them into another one yourself.

Who operates the infrastructure?

We do. Ankra wrote the node agent, the control plane, the storage and the networking, and Ankra's own team and automation operate them.

Who at Ankra can see inside your account?

Support staff only through a support session, which lasts at most an hour, is read-only by default and can never read credentials, consoles or payment methods. Anything that changes your account needs a one-time code from you. Every session and every staff read lands in your audit log.

Controls

Security you can check, not just trust

Ankra's security and compliance posture, sub-processors and data handling are published on the Ankra Trust page.

Visit the Trust page
  • API tokens that always expire, with read-only and scoped variants
  • Read-only tokens can never read secrets such as database credentials or kubeconfigs
  • Owner, admin, member and viewer roles; tokens can never manage members or other tokens
  • Two-factor authentication the owner can require for every member
  • An append-only, hash-chained audit log you can verify yourself
  • Card details stay on Stripe's pages and never reach Ankra Cloud
